Musical evening of Belarusians in Belgium was held in Brussels

On November 25, 2023, “Musical Evening of Belarusians in Belgium” was held in the small concert hall of the Royal Conservatory of Brussels. The event was organized within the framework of the subprogram “Belarusians in the World” of the State Program “Culture of Belarus” for 2021–2025.

A concert of professional Belarusian musicians living in Belgium and Luxembourg followed by a tasting of the Belarusian cuisine took place.

Singer Anastasia Minskaya (Lasko) opened the concert program with the Belarusian folk songs and modern compositions.

Violinist Prof. Liliya Umnova and pianist Prof. Timur Sergeenya performed a number of classical pieces. T. Sergeenya also performed music by the Belarusian composers, including his own interpretation of the composition “Moj Rodny Kut” (“My native land”) by I. Luchenok and “Piano Sonata No. 4” by G. Surus.

The duo “Amarina” of the Belarusian violinist Marina Barskaya and her husband, pianist and composer Amin Dukali, played its original melodies as well as modern hits in instrumental performance.

Cymbalist Tatyana Yaletskaya performed a medley of compositions from the Belarusian cultural heritage and world famous pieces.

The Charge d’Affaires of Belarus in Belgium Ekaterina Shatokhina noted in her remarks the formation of a good tradition of holding creative evenings of Belarusians in Belgium, and called on representatives of the diaspora for active interaction within the framework of the “Belarusians in the World” subprogram.
