The 143/144 sessions of the Council of the World Customs Organization
02.07.2024The 143/144 sessions of the Council of the World Customs Organization (WCO) were held on June 27-29, 2024 in Brussels.
The organization unites 186 member states and is engaged in the development of international instruments and standards aimed at harmonizing the application of customs systems and procedures.
A number of decisions and recommendations on customs issues were considered and approved, reports of the Secretary General and the heads of the main working bodies of the WCO were heard, key issues on the activities of the organization were discussed at the meetings.
The sessions were attended by the Chairman of the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Belarus Vladimir Orlovsky. The Chairman of the State Customs Committee made proposals to improve the work of the organization, increase the efficiency of its work in the interests of the member states.
A number of meetings with the heads of Customs services of various regions of the world were held at the WCO site, during which topical issues of customs cooperation were considered.
The Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Belarus and the Government of the Republic of India on Cooperation and Mutual Assistance in Customs Matters and the Joint Action Plan between the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Belarus and the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) – India Regarding Mutual Recognition of Authorized Economic Operator Programmes were signed.
