Ambassador A.Mikhnevich meets members of the European Parliament H.Hautala and B.Zdrojewski
30.08.2016On August 30, 2016 Aleksandr Mikhnevich, Head of Mission of the Republic of Belarus to the European Union, met with Heidi Hautala, MEP, Co-President of the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly and Bogdan Zdrojewski, MEP, Chair of the EP’s Delegation for relations with Belarus.
A.Mikhnevich informed the European parliamentarians about the modalities of the parliamentary election campaign in Belarus and recent developments in Belarus-EU affairs.
The Belarusian side was briefed on the position of the European Parliament towards the gradual normalization of the Belarus-EU relations, including Parliamentary dimension of the Eastern Partnership, and on the EP’s expectations with regard of the upcoming elections in Belarus.
The topics of Eurasian Economic Union, process of Belarus’ accession to the WTO and intercultural dialogue were also discussed during the meeting.
