Ambassador A.Mikhnevich meets Belgian company «Urban Crops»

On March 24, 2017 Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Kingdom of Belgium Aleksandr Mikhnevich met with the leadership of the young Belgian company «Urban Crops».

During the meeting the Belgian entrepreneurs dwelled on new technology developed by them for growing greenery and vegetables. The production process implies the method of multi-tier planting, significantly reducing water consumption compared to ground cultivation. Due to the use of LED lighting the technology can be considered as energy-saving.

The parties agreed that they would make efforts for joint development with the Belarusian scientists of the new technology and assess the prospects for its use in Belarus. The Embassy will also assist the sides in establishing contacts between «Urban Crops» and Belarusian agricultural producers.
