Belarusian film “Across the River” was screened in Luxembourg

The Belarusian film “Across the River” was screened in Luxembourg. The event was organized by the Embassy of Belarus in cooperation with the Russian Center for Science and Culture in the Grand Duchy.

Charge d’Affaires of Belarus Ekaterina Shatokhina emphasized that the events described in the film refer to the difficult period for our country of the 1920s–30s, when the western part of the Belarusian lands passed into the possession of Poland, and the Belarusian people was divided into two parts and lived in two states.

The Charge d’Affaires also stressed the importance of preserving historical memory, which is of particular importance in the context of the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders, celebrated in 2024.

The film screening was attended by the natives of Belarus and Russia living in Luxembourg and in the border regions of Germany and France, as well as Luxembourgers interested in our region.
