About the meeting of the members of the International Group of Ambassadors' Spouses

On October 24, 2017 the meeting of the Members of the International Group of Ambassadors' Spouses (Groupe International des Ambassadrices, GIA) was held in the building of the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in Brussels.

The meeting was attended by the spouses of the Ambassadors of Kazakhstan, Colombia, Mexico, Russia, Rwanda, Saudi Arabia, Slovenia, Sri Lanka, Japan. Belarus was represented by Tatyana Mikhnevich, spouse of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus in the Kingdom of Belgium, Aleksandr Mikhnevich.

Several short films telling about the distinctive features of Belarus and its inhabitants: nature, animals, architecture, national holidays, rituals and clothes of the Belarusian people, were presented to the participants of the meeting.

During the meeting, the guests of the Embassy got acquainted with playing the Belarusian traditional folk instrument – cymbals, performed by the professional cymbalist Tatyana Yeletskaya, and also watched the master class on the pottery  – historical and cultural craft of Belarus, conducted by the employee of the Embassy, Anna Yelenskaya.

At the end of the meeting, the guests of the Embassy tasted a number of national Belarusian dishes and drinks.
