Ambassador Mikhnevich meets Belgian colleagues
31.08.2016On August 31, 2016 Ambassador of Belarus to Belgium Aleksandr Mikhnevich met with Jean-Arthur Regibeau, Director General for multilateral diplomacy of the Belgian MFA.
The diplomats discussed the current state and the outlook for the Belarusian-Belgian and Belarus-EU relations. They outlined a number of priorities for bilateral engagement within international organisations, including in the UN system.
A.Mikhnevich confirmed to J.-A.Regibeau the invitation for the Belgian side to take part in the international conference «Laying down the foundation in the UNECE region for economic integration and sustainable development towards 2030», which will be held by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe together with the MFA of Belarus in Minsk on 26 — 27 October 2016.
On the same day, the Ambassador of Belarus met with Jan Jambon, Belgian Minister of the Interior.
The sides discussed the ways to expand and strengthen cooperation between police services of Belarus and Belgium in view of the deteriorating situation in terms of combatting international organized crime and terrorism. Particular attention was paid to opportunities for joint actions in the field of crisis response.
