Ambassador A.Mikhnevich meets WCO Secretary General

Brussels, 7 September 2016. Aleksandr Mikhnevich, Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus to Belgium, Head of Mission of Belarus to the EU met with Kunio Mikuriya, Secretary General of the World Customs Organization at the WCO Headquarters.

A.Mikhnevich informed K.Mikuriya about key foreign trade priorities of Belarus, current activities of the Belarusian customs. The Ambassador thanked the Secretary General for the capacity building assistance provided by the WCO to the Belarusian customs and expressed interest in extending cooperation between the State Customs Committee of Belarus and the WCO. The Belarusian diplomat emphasised the significance of engagement between the EU and the Eurasian Economic Union.

K.Mikuriya appreciated the close cooperation of the Belarusian customs with the customs services of other countries. He pointed out the important role that Belarus can play in integration processes between Lisbon and Vladivostok.

A.Mikhnevich invited K.Mikuriya to participate in the conference “Laying the foundation in the UNECE region for economic integration and sustainable development towards 2030” to be held in Minsk on 26-27 October 2016.
